 Some Updates about Torremolinos

THE preceding article talked about the immense beauty of Torremolinos. This article now talks more about what Torremolinos looks today as winter is approaching. Just like all the Mediterranean coastlines in Spain, Torremolinos is relatively deserted during winter as far as British and other Northern and Western European tourists are concerned. But this year may be slightly different. Because of the torrential floods last summer in August, many British tourists may likely come here again during the holiday season and spend Christmas time here.

It is also here in Torremolinos where one can enjoy Christmas at its most religious. The majority of the people in England are Anglicans and they are not as conservative as the Catholics who celebrate nine dawns before Christmas in masses. Here in Torremolinos, you can experience all of that and check out the food kiosks lining up after church for some hearty breakfast of cocoa and some sweet Spanish delicacies.

The majority of the tourists here in Torremolinos are the gays and the retirees. They usually line up the nudist beaches and the conventional beaches during summer but once winter sets in, those beaches are sometimes deserted. This is where you come in for a good honeymooning or two. If you are a gay or a lesbian couple, then you can have your own holiday vacation here in Torremolinos as the gay beaches here are literally all by yourself. There will be no more hassles in booking your stay at the beach as they are not reserved.

That also includes the plane tickets as well. There are lots of domestic flights coming from such cities as Madrid and Barcelona but if you want to travel by land, you may either rent a car or bring your own car if you come from Portugal or the rest of Europe. The road trip across tends to be snowy though as winter is fast approaching.

The Christmas spirit in Torremolinos may be kinda varied though and may not be the Christmas that you experience in your own country. For example, Christmas music here is usually in Spanish and even the disc jockeys in music stations speak and greet merry Christmas in Spanish. If you want to go experience an English-speaking disc jockey, then go to the nearest club. You will be entertained exclusively as these clubs are at their peak during summer but during winter, since there are only a few customers, service tends to be personalized. But don’t be wary about these clubs here in Torremolinos. All of their staff are experienced, hospitable and professional. They know how to bartend appropriately, properly and with flair.

Many British retirees have loved to make Torremolinos as their second home. And that’s a fact. There are many villas, mansions, manors and estates here for rent and for sale. Some even look like castles of the medieval times. All of the amenities in the castle though are modern but satellite television and Internet connection are an option since the proximity of the castle to the urban areas is quite far and because of its remoteness, satellite television and Internet connections are relatively expensive.
